Dyadic parent-child art psychotherapy training - Level 1

This is a practical course to help you develop your dyadic art therapy work, whether you are experienced in working dyadically or have never practiced in this way.

What is dyadic parent-child art psychotherapy?

Dyadic parent-child art psychotherapy is a way of working which focuses directly on the child鈥檚 primary attachment relationship. The therapist does not become the child鈥檚 therapist or the caregiver鈥檚 therapist, but the relationship鈥檚 therapist.

What you will learn:

The course covers:

  • the rationale for dyadic work
  • three approaches to dyadic work
  • preparing the caregiver
  • considerations for online dyadic work
  • overview and rational
  • reflective art making
  • scenario discussion and role play
  • questions

How you will learn

Learning will be through short presentations from the two trainers, case vignettes, videos, working in break-out groups for discussion, sharing and role play, and reflective art making.

Tutors

Anthea Hendry, Katie Wilson & Alexa Molyneux

I now have a much better understanding of dyadic work and feel more confident to try this in practice.
